This is from the day before I left.  Emily and I hiked out to Trois Bassins and went around exploring hidden pools and waterfalls and tunnels and all manner of beautiful things.  I threw this together in various airports on the way home; it reminds me of one of the best days I spent on the island.

I observed this today and looked it up. Kind of neat.

Now that I think about it, swarms of ants have had a really positive influence on my life:

  • I keep a spotless kitchen, because there’s no other choice
  • They’ve forced me to research the workings of microwaves
  • Roaches, once so repulsive to me, are now almost laughable next to the sinister plague of ants

My days are filled with a disorienting mixture of languages. So is this Muxtape.  Specifically, it’s devoted to that delightful mélange of French and English known to the Anglosphere as Frenglish.

I spent much of today being told “t’as une araignée dans les cheveux!” and having fish doodles taped to my back by very small, mischievous hands.
